The patron saint's festival of Frassinelle
The Fiera di San Bartolomeo is the patronal festival of Frassinelle Polesine, in the province of Rovigo, dedicated to Saint Bartholomew the Apostle, celebrated on August 24th. The fair has always intertwined religious devotion with popular celebrations, in one of the most heartfelt events of the summer in the lower Polesine region.
Good food and Polesine tradition
The heart of the festival is the food stand, which offers meat and fish dishes and specialties of the Polesine tradition, including the famous bondola al sugo, a typical local cured meat. The cuisine, managed by volunteers from the Pro Loco of Frassinelle Polesine, is accompanied by live music and dancing with an orchestra, on evenings that bring together the community and visitors from nearby towns.
Fun and solidarity
The fair also offers attractions for children, with the amusement park and rides, and entertainment for all ages. Part of the proceeds from the event are donated to charity, confirming the strong community spirit of the festival. The Fiera di San Bartolomeo is thus, at the same time, a religious festival, a food fair, and an occasion for solidarity for the town.

For 2026, the Fiera di San Bartolomeo will once again liven up Frassinelle Polesine towards the end of August, on the occasion of the patron saint San Bartolomeo's day on August 24th. Based on previous editions, the program includes religious moments with mass, a food stand with meat and fish dishes and bondola al sugo, an amusement park for children, and dancing with an orchestra.

How to get there
Frassinelle Polesine is located in the province of Rovigo, in the lower Polesine region. By car from the A13 motorway (Rovigo exit) or the SS16; the nearest train station is Rovigo, from which you can continue by car or bus.
