Settembre Lendinarese – Fiera di Lendinara

A Centuries-Old Fair

The Settembre Lendinarese, also known as the Fiera di Lendinara, is one of the oldest fairs in the Veneto region, now in its three hundred and sixtieth edition and beyond. It takes place in Lendinara, in the Alto Polesine area, in the province of Rovigo, and is dedicated to the Nativity of Mary the Virgin (September 8th), the city's patron saint, in close connection with the revered sanctuary of the Madonna del Pilastrello.

Market, Funfair, and Culture

For about two weeks, between late August and mid-September, the trade fair extends across Piazza Risorgimento, Riviera Mazzini, Piazza San Marco, Via Carlo Alberto dalla Chiesa, around the Sanctuary, and the former Pescheria. Alongside the large funfair, the program features evening shows, art exhibitions, book presentations, sports activities – including a cycling stage of the Giro del Veneto – and the traditional concluding fireworks display.

Tradition, Faith, and Civic Engagement

More than just a fair, the Settembre Lendinarese is an event of identity for the community: it combines devotion to the Madonna del Pilastrello, the dimension of the market and popular entertainment, and a growing focus on cultural and civic issues. The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Lendinara, in the heart of the Municipality (province of Rovigo).
