When Science and Philosophy Meet
The Festival of Science and Philosophy is one of the leading cultural dissemination festivals in central Italy. It takes place in Foligno (Province of Perugia), in the heart of Umbria, and each year it brings together the scientific method and philosophical reflection around a common theme, involving nationally and internationally renowned scholars.
Conferences, Workshops, and Schools
The program includes over one hundred conferences, as well as educational workshops, presentations of educational projects, and cultural paths. A fundamental part is dedicated to the program for schools, with thousands of students involved in activities designed to bring young people closer to scientific and humanistic culture. Admission is free, with online registration.
A Widespread Festival in the Heart of Umbria
Organized by the Laboratory of Experimental Sciences O.D.V. of Foligno in collaboration with local and regional bodies, the Festival animates venues in the historic center of Foligno and, in some editions, also extends to the nearby town of Fabriano, in the Marche region. It is an event that combines high-level dissemination with popular participation, confirming Foligno's vocation as a "city of science".
Festival of Science and Philosophy — edition 2026
The 15th edition of the Festival of Science and Philosophy takes place from April 15 to 19, 2026, in Foligno, with events also in Fabriano (April 16-18). The chosen theme is "A New Scientific Humanism. Perspectives. Hopes. Risks," a reflection on the relationship between technological progress, artificial intelligence, and the human dimension.
The program features conferences, educational workshops, presentations of educational projects, and cultural paths, with a broad section dedicated to schools. Admission is free with online registration. Among the participants are researchers and institutions such as INDIRE, present on April 15 in Foligno with a workshop on artificial intelligence to support creative processes in schools.
