The summer pork festival in Camurana di Medolla
The Festival of Pork Knuckle and Pork Cheek is one of the most anticipated summer events in the Bassa Modenese. It takes place every July in Camurana, a hamlet of the Municipality of Medolla, in the province of Modena, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. The setting is the welcoming Parco Canonica, at Via Camurana 35, where an outdoor gastronomic stand is set up every evening, attracting food lovers from all over the Emilian plain.
As the name suggests, the festival celebrates two iconic cuts of traditional Po Valley cured pork: pork knuckle, served roasted or baked, and pork cheek, offered with mushrooms and polenta or in a sweet and sour sauce. The 2026 Festival of Pork Knuckle and Pork Cheek will take place over two weekends in July: July 17, 18, and 19, and then July 24, 25, 26, and 27. The confirmed venue is Parco Canonica, at Via Camurana 35 in Camurana di Medolla, in the province of Modena.
This year again, the stars of the menu will be the roasted pork knuckle and pork cheek, accompanied by traditional Emilian first courses such as maccheroni al pettine with pork cheek ragù, gramigna with sausage, and bigoli with salami ragù. The evenings will feature music and entertainment.
