Geography as a key to understanding the world, in Levanto
The Festival of Geographies is the cultural event of Levanto, in the province of La Spezia, organized by the association Officine del Levante. The festival was born from a simple and ambitious idea: geography is a fundamental subject that spans economics, literature, painting, music, travel, and life, and deserves to be told to everyone.
The event alternates theatrical excursions in nature, workshops for students of all levels (including universities for the elderly), discussions on current issues, concerts, readings, and convivial moments. An intertwining of languages that makes geography alive and accessible.
With the involvement of institutions, universities, associations, and geography competitions, the festival has established itself as an anticipated event of Ligurian cultural spring. In Levanto, the gateway to Cinque Terre, the event combines reflection and discovery of the territory, enhancing the landscape of the eastern Ligurian coast.
The eleventh edition of the Festival of Geographies enlivens Levanto from April 17 to 19, 2026. The event, curated by Officine del Levante, presents geography as a plural subject, capable of spanning economics, literature, painting, music, travel, and life.
The program alternates theatrical excursions in nature, workshops for schools and universities for the elderly, discussions on current issues, and cultural and convivial moments.
The festival takes place in Levanto in spring, over three days. Information at officinedellevante.org and on the Facebook pages of the Festival delle Geografie and Officine del Levante.
