About Festival of Geographies

In Levanto, on the coast of La Spezia, geography becomes a lens through which to view the world. The Festival of Geographies explores this discipline in its many facets—geopolitics, environment, history, music, literature, travel—through theatrical excursions, workshops, discussions, concerts, and readings. Three spring days to rediscover, with lightness and depth, the importance of knowing how to read places.

Plural Geography

The Festival of Geographies is the cultural event of Levanto, in the province of La Spezia, organized by the association Officine del Levante. The festival was born from a simple and ambitious idea: geography is a fundamental subject that spans economics, literature, painting, music, travel, and life, and deserves to be told to everyone.

A Multidisciplinary Program

The event alternates theatrical excursions in nature, workshops for students of all levels (including universities for the elderly), discussions on current issues, concerts, readings, and convivial moments. An intertwining of languages that makes geography alive and accessible.

Culture in Eastern Liguria

With the involvement of institutions, universities, associations, and geography competitions, the festival has established itself as an anticipated event of Ligurian cultural spring. In Levanto, the gateway to Cinque Terre, the event combines reflection and discovery of the territory, enhancing the landscape of the eastern Ligurian coast.
