About Agnolotti, Boiled & Braised Festival

When winter is in full swing, the Contrada San Bernardino of Legnano opens its kitchens for a festival dedicated to the great dishes of Piedmontese and Lombard tradition. Thin agnolotti with butter and sage, ravioli with duck or braised meat sauce, mixed boiled meats, braised beef in red wine with polenta, vitello tonnato, and homemade desserts: all served indoors and warm, in the heart of one of the Palio districts. A winter feast curated by chef Pippo, perfect for warming up with robust flavors.

Winter on the Table in the District

The Festival of Agnolotti, Boiled Meats, and Braised Meats is one of the winter gastronomic events of the Contrada San Bernardino, one of the eight districts of the Palio di Legnano (Province of Milan). In the spaces at via Somalia 13, the district sets up a fully covered hall where you can enjoy the richest dishes of the border cuisine between Piedmont and Lombardy.

The Menu

Chef Pippo, a well-known figure at Legnano festivals, works in the kitchen. Among the offerings:

  • Thin Agnolotti with butter and sage, and ravioli with duck or braised meat sauce
  • Mixed Boiled Meats and Braised Beef in Red Wine with polenta
  • Vitello tonnato, polenta taragna, and traditional appetizers
  • Homemade desserts such as chocolate salami and tiramisu

Eating Warmly in the Heart of the District

The festival's strong point is the fully covered environment, which allows you to enjoy the dishes even on the coldest January evenings. More than just a dinner, it's an opportunity to experience the community dimension of the Palio districts, which throughout the year animate the social life of Legnano with festivals, dinners, and initiatives between one Palio season and the next.
