Great sacred music between the Duomo di San Marco and Casa Zanussi
For over thirty years, the Festival Internazionale di Musica Sacra di Pordenone has brought the great spiritual repertoire to the Friulian city, from Renaissance polyphony to Baroque devotional music, from Byzantine chant to new contemporary productions. Organized by the association Presenza e Cultura, the festival's main venues are the Duomo Concattedrale di San Marco and the modern Casa Zanussi, two locations that dialogue between history and contemporaneity.
Each edition revolves around a guiding theme that links the concerts in a meaningful journey. The festival is not just a series of performances: staged actions, conferences, and workshops accompany the listening experience, inviting the audience to reflect on the relationship between faith, culture, and art. Among the performers are ensembles specializing in early music and internationally renowned artists.
Under the artistic direction of Franco Calabretto and Eddi De Nadai, the festival is part of the path that will lead Pordenone to become the Italian Capital of Culture in 2027. Supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, and local foundations, it confirms the city's role as an international cultural hub.
Listening to sacred music under the vaults of the Duomo di San Marco, with the Romanesque bell tower watching over the city, is an experience that combines architectural beauty, spirituality, and the highest musical quality. A precious event for those seeking a moment of depth amidst the background noise of daily life.
The thirty-fifth edition opens a new three-year cycle (2026-2028) with the guiding theme "Faith and Heresy", dedicated to the territories of spiritual and cultural nonconformity, in preparation for Pordenone Italian Capital of Culture 2027. The summer phase takes place between June 11 and July 5, with a second block of events in the autumn.
A second block of events is scheduled for autumn (from October 11). Artistic direction by Franco Calabretto and Eddi De Nadai. Free admission.
