Three days of celebration along the Noncello river, the heart of Pordenone
Pordenone owes its name precisely to the river: Noncello in Italian, Nonsel in dialect, the waterway around which the historic center grew with its ancient landing stages. The Festa sul Nonsel was created precisely to bring the city back to the banks of its river, transforming the embarkation area, the famous Ponte di Adamo ed Eva, the River Park, and via Rivierasca into a large outdoor celebration space for a June weekend.
The program blends different genres and audiences: concerts and musical performances, dance performances, sports activities, markets and exhibitions, walks along nature trails, and environmental and social initiatives. There are also opportunities to experience the river up close, with canoe excursions on the Noncello and ferry trips, while the food and wine stalls offer local specialties and zero-kilometer products. Among the most popular activities for young people are also moments dedicated to the world of cosplay.
Festa sul Nonsel is above all a celebration of volunteerism: behind the organization, coordinated by Pro Loco Pordenone APS together with the "Sei di Pordenone se..." network, is the work of numerous local associations. The Municipality of Pordenone and the Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia support the event as a tool to reconnect citizens and the river, also in view of 2027, when Pordenone will be the Italian Capital of Culture.
Walking along the riverbanks at sunset, with music coming from the embarkation point and canoes gliding on the water, is the best way to understand why Pordenone's residents love their Noncello so much. A free, family-friendly event deeply connected to the city's identity.
For three days, the embarkation area, the Ponte di Adamo ed Eva, the River Park, and via Rivierasca will once again become the stage for the festival. The program alternates live music, dance, sports, environmental initiatives, and family-oriented events, with the opportunity to get on the river by canoe or board the ferry.
The detailed program for Festa sul Nonsel 2026, including concerts, shows, and timings, will be announced by Pro Loco Pordenone APS in the weeks leading up to the event. The festival traditionally spans three days (Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday) and includes:
How to get there: the festival area, along via Rivierasca and the embarkation point, is a short walk from the historic center and Pordenone station.
Admission: free; any fees only for some activities (canoe or ferry trips, food and drinks).
Accommodation: hotels and B&Bs in the center of Pordenone.
