Pietro Bonfilio's piano recital at the Oratory of San Giovanni Battista
The Festival Echos has chosen the small village of Voltaggio, in the province of Alessandria, for one of the most evocative stops on its tour. Born with the vision of bringing great chamber music to the historic and artistic landmarks of the Piedmont region, the festival transforms the Oratory of San Giovanni Battista into an exceptional concert hall, where the intimate acoustics of the sacred building enhance every nuance of the piano.
Festival Echos is a traveling festival that traverses dozens of villages, churches, castles, and historic residences across the Alessandria and Monferrato areas, from Casale Monferrato to Novi Ligure, and from Acqui Terme to Castelnuovo Scrivia. The Voltaggio stop marks the final event of the PianoEchos cycle, dedicated to great keyboard virtuosos.
Pianist Pietro Bonfilio takes the stage at the oratory for a recital that weaves together three fundamental voices of the repertoire: the visionary ecstasy of Alexander Scriabin, the poetic lyricism of Frédéric Chopin, and the evocative power of Modest Mussorgsky. It is a sonic journey ranging from the most intimate Romanticism to the boldest pages of the Russian repertoire, designed for both seasoned enthusiasts and those approaching chamber music for the first time.
The Voltaggio event is more than just a concert. Before the performance, the Associazione L'Arcangelo APS offers a free guided tour of the Oratory of San Giovanni Battista, a precious opportunity to discover the history and artistic treasures of this local place of worship. It is the ideal way to experience Voltaggio in its dual soul: artistic and musical.
This stop is organized by the Associazione Musicale Ondasonora APS in collaboration with L'Arcangelo APS, under the patronage of the Municipality of Voltaggio and with the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria and Viscol Spa. It is a virtuous example of how culture can enhance small Piedmontese towns by bringing top-tier performers into an intimate and welcoming setting. Due to the limited capacity of the venue, reservations are mandatory.
