The Festival del Volo is the summer event that brings the excitement of paragliding to Bianzone, a Municipality in the Province of Sondrio overlooking Valtellina, along with the discovery of the territory and its cuisine. A whole day dedicated to three passions: flying, walking, and eating, set against the backdrop of the Valtellina mountains.
Paragliding, trekking, and tastings
The heart of the event is the tandem paragliding flights, with demonstrations and tandem flights open to anyone wanting to experience soaring above the terraced vineyards and the valley. On the ground, a trekking route with tasting stops allows participants to discover the landscape and local products, while a lunch featuring typical cuisine, including the famous pizzoccheri and traditional mountain dishes, is served at the Sports Centre.
A festival for everyone
The Festival del Volo is not just for flying enthusiasts; it's designed for all ages and experience levels. For younger children, there are workshops and games, while a shuttle service connects Bianzone to the villages of Campei and Nemina Alta. Organized by the Municipality of Bianzone, the event is a successful blend of sport, nature, and gastronomy, capable of promoting the mid-Valtellina area.
Festival del Volo — edition 2026
The 2026 edition, expected in late August as is tradition, will again offer the formula that combines flying, trekking, and gastronomy. Tandem paragliding flights and demonstrations, a trekking route with tasting stops, lunch with pizzoccheri and mountain dishes at the Sports Centre, workshops and games for children, and the shuttle service between Bianzone, Campei, and Nemina Alta. The final date will be confirmed by the Municipality of Bianzone closer to the event.

By car from the SS38 dello Stelvio, towards Tirano, exit Bianzone. By train on the Tirano-Sondrio-Milan line, Bianzone stop.
