The exhibition and market for gardening, craftsmanship, and the flavors of the Middle Volturno
The Festival del Verde – Giardini del Volturno is the major spring exhibition and market dedicated to gardening, nurseries, craftsmanship, and local products that brings the Parco San Bartolomeo to life every year in the Pantaniello area of Caiazzo, in the heart of the Upper Caserta region. Promoted by the Associazione Giardini del Volturno, the event has become a benchmark for nature enthusiasts in the province of Caserta and throughout Campania, with a special focus on landscape design and the food and wine of the Middle Volturno.
The festival turns the park into a vast open-air garden: nursery owners and exhibitors offer ornamental plants, flowers, rare essences, and gardening supplies, alongside stalls featuring local crafts and traditional products. Botanical walks, areas dedicated to wildlife, and themed displays guide visitors along the route in an atmosphere designed for families and children alike.
Alongside the market, every edition offers a rich calendar of cultural and recreational initiatives: book presentations, musical performances, yoga sessions, and art installations. There is no shortage of outdoor sports, such as hiking and Nordic Walking, as well as opportunities to try new disciplines. A distinctive element is the themed exhibitions, which change every year, attracting collectors and curious visitors alike.
The Festival del Verde is also an occasion for a series of accolades celebrating those dedicated to the environment and the landscape: the Loreto Marziale Award, dedicated to the park's founder; the Orchid Award for environmental enthusiasts; the Green Care and Garden Club Caserta awards for green industry professionals; and the prestigious Volturno Award, assigned by the provincial Press Association. Great emphasis is also placed on young people, with a gastronomy competition reserved for students from hospitality schools in the Caserta area.
Nestled in the greenery of the Municipality of Caiazzo, a village overlooking the Volturno River, the festival promotes the flavors and excellence of the Middle Volturno and Upper Caserta regions, offering visitors a day dedicated to nature, fine dining, and the discovery of an authentic corner of inland Campania.
The 2026 edition, the fifteenth, enlivened Parco San Bartolomeo in Caiazzo over the weekend of April 11-12 with nursery owners, artisans, local producers, and numerous cultural and sporting initiatives.
Among the year's novelties, a golf practice range set up by FederGolf at the Belvedere caiatino (Saturday, 11 am - 4 pm) and, on Sunday, two major static exhibitions of vintage cars and motorcycles: a Vespa display by the Vespa Club of Alvignano and a collection of Ferraris, including a historic Ferrari 250 Le Mans and a more recent Ferrari 348.
