Chess between Christmas and New Year

The Festival degli Scacchi di Robecchetto con Induno is a regular event for chess enthusiasts. Organized by the Circolo Scacchistico Cavalli&Segugi with the support of the Municipality of Robecchetto con Induno, in the province of Milan, it traditionally takes place in the last week of the year, between Christmas and New Year, and is considered one of the most important tournaments of the Christmas period in Italy.

Three FIDE tournaments for every level

The festival includes three international FIDE tournaments, designed to accommodate players of all levels: a Master tournament reserved for players with the highest Elo rating, an Open FIDE A for intermediate levels, and an Open FIDE B open to players with lower ratings. A structure that ensures balanced competition and involves both the strongest chess players and amateurs.

An international event

The event brings together about a hundred players, mainly from Lombardy and Piedmont, but also from the rest of Italy and Europe. Over the years, the festival has taken on an increasingly international dimension, including among its winners players from countries on other continents, such as India, Cuba, and the Philippines. The venue is the Hotel Ristorante Da Mariuccia, in via Don Luigi Pozzi 43, which hosts the chess matches in a festive and focused atmosphere.
