Antica Fiera di San Martino

Over four centuries of history

The Antica Fiera di San Martino in Inveruno, in the province of Milan, has been documented since 1680 in the archives of the State Archives of Milan: a very rare continuity that places it among the oldest and most rooted fairs in Lombardy. Dedicated to the patron saint Saint Martin the Bishop, the event marks the life of the town in the Alto Milanese region every November, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the province and beyond.

The great market and agricultural tradition

The heart of the fair is the traditional market, which on the main day fills Piazza San Martino and the streets of the centre with hundreds of stalls. The agricultural and rural vocation is strong: the fair hosts the exhibition of animal breeds, the educational farm, the "Custodi di biodiversità" (Guardians of biodiversity) exhibition, and the traditional blessing of agricultural machinery, a legacy of the deep bond between Inveruno and the land.
