The end-of-summer festival dedicated to the ancient crucifix of Perarolo di Vigonza
The Sagra del Cristo Moro is the most cherished event in the hamlet of Perarolo di Vigonza, in the province of Padua. The festival takes its name from the Cristo Moro, an ancient crucifix with a characteristic dark patina kept and venerated in the parish church of Sant'Andrea Apostolo, around which the religious dimension of the event revolves.
The musical heart of the festival is Week'n Rock, the concert series that brings international cover bands and lots of live music to the stage. The evenings in Piazza Vinicio Dalla Vecchia attract a large audience, combining the village festival with the cover band scene of the Veneto region.
The festival has a strong solidarity vocation: the motorcycle blessing and testimonies from Doctors with Africa (CUAMM) accompany fundraising for cooperation projects. There is also a food stand, a charity raffle, puppet shows, entertainment for families, and an evening running race.
The festival is organized by the Parrocchia S. Andrea Apostolo di Perarolo thanks to volunteers, and it is now a fixed event on the Vigonza calendar between the end of August and the beginning of September.
The 2026 edition of the Sagra del Cristo Moro in Perarolo di Vigonza takes place from September 5th to 10th in Piazza Vinicio Dalla Vecchia. The musical program is entrusted to the 16th edition of Week'n Rock, with international cover bands and live music.
Among the events, the 3rd edition of the motorcycle blessing on Sunday after the 11 AM mass, with representatives from Doctors with Africa CUAMM and fundraising for a motorcycle ambulance to be sent to Africa. On Monday, September 8th, at the parish kindergarten, an evening is scheduled with the association 'In moto con l'Africa' and a testimony from Dr. Alessandro Tiozzo on CUAMM projects. The festival is completed by the food stand, charity raffle, puppet shows, entertainment for families, and an evening running race.
