The Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is the identity festival of Castelnuovo del Garda, in the province of Verona, in the hinterland of Lake Garda. The patron saint is celebrated on September 8th, the date of Mary's Nativity, with religious celebrations and festive moments involving the entire community.
Mass, procession, and civic band
The heart of the patronal day is the mass with procession through the town streets, accompanied by the civic band. The spiritual dimension intertwines with the convivial one: food stalls, community lunches, parish choirs, and concerts liven up the evenings.
Festival for the whole community
Organized by the parish with the Circolo Noi San Giuseppe APS, the festival offers live music, activities for children (inflatables, cotton candy, face painting), lunches dedicated to the elderly, and a charity raffle.
