Bardineto, land of mushrooms

Nestled in the woods of the Savona hinterland plateau, the village of Bardineto (Province of Savona) is famous for its porcino mushrooms, which grow abundantly among the surrounding chestnut and beech forests. The Festa Nazionale del Fungo d'Oro, one of Liguria's best-known gastronomic sagre (festivals), is dedicated to them, attracting thousands of enthusiasts every September.

A festival of flavours and spectacle

The heart of the event lies in the food stalls offering typical mushroom-based menus, from first courses to fried porcini served all day long. The gastronomy is complemented by a rich programme: acrobatic shows, children's entertainment, bouncy castles, artistic demonstrations, and evening concerts with live bands. The evocative award ceremony for the King and Queen of the Golden Mushroom is also a highlight.
