Three days of celebration for the patron saint in the village of Valle Lerrone
The Festa Patronale della Nativita di Maria Santissima is the most cherished event in the community of Garlenda, a village in the Valle Lerrone in the province of Savona. The festival celebrates the town's patron saint, whose feast day is September 8th, and is spread over three days of festivities.
The nerve centre of the festival is Piazza Borgata Ponte, in front of the town hall, which for the occasion transforms into the pulsating heart of the events. The administration organises a wide range of activities including typical local products, street food, cultural events, and opportunities to discover the local area, alongside musical performances with bands and DJ sets.
The festival balances the religious dimension - with celebrations in honour of the Nativity of Mary - and the popular one, made up of conviviality and the enhancement of the territory's resources. As the municipal administration has pointed out, it is the best energies of the town that mobilise for the organisation.
Known primarily for the large Fiat 500 Meeting, Garlenda shows a more intimate and authentic side with its patronal festival. For those visiting the Savona hinterland in early September, it is an opportunity to experience a true village festival, family-friendly, in the heart of the Valle Lerrone.
From September 6th to 8th, 2026, Garlenda celebrates its patron saint, the Nativity of Mary Most Holy. For three days, Piazza Borgata Ponte, in front of the town hall, becomes the heart of the festivities.
The program includes typical local products, street food, cultural events, and opportunities to discover the local area, along with musical performances by bands and DJ sets. Religious celebrations in honour of the patron saint accompany the festival. The full program is available on the municipal website.
Garlenda can be reached from the Albenga exit of the A10 motorway, heading up the Valle Lerrone. The celebrations are concentrated in Piazza Borgata Ponte, in front of the town hall.
Free admission festival; purchases at the stands are paid. The full programme is available on the municipal website.
