About Sant'Antonio Gemona

Every June, Gemona del Friuli celebrates its patron saint with the Festa di Sant'Antonio: days of devotion and celebration around the Sanctuary and the Park of Via Dante, with religious services, music, food, cultural events, and fireworks.

The patron saint's festival of Gemona

The Festa di Sant'Antonio is the patronal festival of Gemona del Friuli, a town in the Province of Udine at the foot of the Julian Prealps. Saint Anthony of Padua is deeply venerated in the town, where a Sanctuary is dedicated to him: every year, in mid-June, Gemona's residents gather around the sanctuary and the nearby Park of Via Dante for several days of devotion and celebration.

Between faith, music, and gastronomy

The program combines the religious dimension โ€“ with liturgical celebrations in honour of the saint โ€“ and the popular one, with evenings of music, food stands run by volunteers, cultural events, and entertainment for families. To crown the festivities, as tradition dictates, is the fireworks display that lights up Gemona's sky.

A community festival

The Festa di Sant'Antonio is one of the most cherished events in Gemona's calendar: an occasion where devotion and conviviality merge, bringing the community together around its patron saint. Promoted by the parish with the support of the Municipality of Gemona del Friuli, the festival also offers visitors the opportunity to discover the town and its history, marked by rebirth after the 1976 earthquake.
