Half a century of community

Some associations, over time, become the backbone of a village. This is the case with Un Grup di Amîs, the cultural association of Ciconicco, a hamlet of Fagagna in the province of Udine, which in 2026 celebrates its fifty years of activity. For the occasion, Una Comunità in Festa is born, a day entirely dedicated to the memory and traditions of this corner of the Friulian hills.

A festival for all ages

The program intertwines past and present. The morning opens in Piazza della Chiesa with greetings from local entities and the inauguration of a historical-photographic exhibition retracing fifty years of association life, while the little ones have fun with face painting and play activities. The afternoon is dedicated to traditional Friulian games, with demonstrations of pindul-pandul and tournaments of morra and briscola, among the most beloved pastimes of the local peasant culture.

Music, food, and conviviality

In the late afternoon, the Gruppo Folk di Pasian di Prato takes the stage, followed by speeches from authorities and a community dinner that brings the entire village together. The evening concludes with the screening of a video dedicated to the Passion of Ciconicco, an ancient representation that testifies to the hamlet's deep connection with its traditions. The well-stocked stands of the Pro Loco of Ciconicco ensure the gastronomic offerings.

The value of roots

More than just an anniversary, Una Comunità in Festa is a celebration of a way of being together that endures over time. It is an opportunity to rediscover the traditions of the Friulian hills and to pay homage to those who, for half a century, have kept the identity of Ciconicco alive. An authentic event, made of people, history, and belonging.
