An autumn festival in the mountains

The Festa della Madonna del Rosario is one of the most cherished events in Cavargna, a small mountain municipality in Val Cavargna, in the far north of the Province of Como, in an area nestled between Lake Como and the Swiss border. The festival is held on the first Sunday of October and ideally marks the closing of the summer event season, bringing the community together in a moment of devotion and conviviality.

The day begins in the morning with Holy Mass in the parish church. In the afternoon, the procession takes place through the village streets with the statue of the Madonna, followed by a blessing in the church. The Corpo Musicale Santa Cecilia accompanies the procession, marking one of the most solemn and participatory moments of the year for Cavargna with its music.
