The patron saints of Val Cavargna

The Patronal Festival of Saints Nazarius and Celsus celebrates the two Christian martyrs who are patrons of San Nazzaro Val Cavargna, a mountain municipality in the province of Como nestled in Val Cavargna, one of the most secluded and picturesque valleys in the Como area. The festival represents the most heartfelt moment of the year for the small mountain community.

Between solemnity and celebration

The spiritual dimension is central: during Sunday mass, tradition is renewed, while in the evening, the procession with the Madonna's statue takes place, starting from the chapel of Sant'Antonio and concluding with a blessing at the parish church. In recent years, the celebration has been extended to the entire weekend, intertwining solemn moments, festivities, music, and food and wine events.

The festival focuses on the values of "unity, cooperation, and valorization of the beautiful valley."
