A Seafood Festival in Polesine
The Festa del Pesce di Frassinelle Polesine is one of the most anticipated gastronomic events in the province of Rovigo. For three consecutive weekends between late May and June, the town in the lower Polesine region fills with the aromas and flavors of the sea, thanks to the work of the volunteers from the Pro Loco of Frassinelle Polesine, who have been preparing Adriatic tradition dishes for decades.
The Traditional Menu
The food stall offers a rich fish menu: spaghetti with clams, seafood risotto, fishermen's gnocchi, mixed fried fish, stewed mussels, mussel soup, fried eels, cod in sauce, and sardines in saor (sweet and sour sardines), accompanied by Venetian wines. Simple and genuine cuisine that tells the story of the connection between Polesine with the Po River, the valleys, and the Adriatic Sea.
Music, Dancing, and Conviviality
Every evening the festival officially begins at 7:30 PM with the opening of the stalls, while from 9:30 PM the dance floor, always open for free, comes alive with live music and orchestras. Admission is free, and the festival, in the province of Rovigo, is an opportunity to gather outdoors on early summer evenings, enjoying good food and village cheer.
Festa del Pesce — edition 2026
For 2026, the Festa del Pesce returns to Frassinelle Polesine for three consecutive weekends: from May 31 to June 2, from June 7 to 9, and from June 14 to 16. All evenings officially begin at 7:30 PM with the opening of the food stalls, while from 9:30 PM, music and dancing accompany the festival with the dance floor always open for free.
The menu features spaghetti with clams, seafood risotto, mixed fried fish, stewed mussels, fried eels, sardines in saor, and Venetian wines. Free admission for all.

How to get there
Frassinelle Polesine is located in the province of Rovigo, in the lower Polesine region. By car from the A13 highway (Rovigo exit) or from the SS16; the reference train station is Rovigo, from which to continue by car or bus.
