The challenge between the contrade of Polesella that celebrates the rural tradition of Polesine
The Palio degli Angun is the identity festival of Polesella, a town in Polesine overlooking the Po River, in the province of Rovigo. The event pits the town's contrade against each other in a challenge that intertwines the memory of rural life in Polesine with the evocation of the glories of Venetian nobility, who built villas and holiday homes along the Po.
The program alternates moments of historical reenactment, with parades and a historical procession in costume, and skill tests between the contrade teams, in a spirit of healthy popular rivalry. It is one of those festivals that, in Polesine, keep alive the bond between the community, the river, and the traditions of the territory.
In 2026, the Palio degli Angun should once again animate Polesella during its usual period in the first days of June, with the competition between the contrade, parades, and the historical procession in costume. A festival that renews the town's connection with the Po River and the rural traditions of Polesine.
Program to come. Based on tradition, the event includes parades, a historical procession in costume, and the challenge between the town's contrade with skill tests. Dates and details confirmed by the Municipality of Polesella in the preceding weeks.
