The Sacrario di Agueglio
The Sacrario di Agueglio stands along provincial road 65, which connects Valsassina to Val d'Esino, within the municipality of Perledo, in the province of Lecco. Built by Alpini and veterans on land donated by the Invitti family and inaugurated in September 1975, it is dedicated to the memory of fallen Alpini. From its position, the view encompasses Vezio Castle and its olive groves, and across the lake, Bellagio, Menaggio, and Tremezzina.
The Annual Alpini Festival
Every year, on the last Sunday of August, the Perledo Alpini Group organizes its festival at the Sacrario, now in its fortieth edition. The day begins with an assembly around 10:30 AM and continues with the 11:00 AM Holy Mass, celebrated in memory of the Alpini who fell in the two World Wars.
Lunch, Games, and Music
After the commemorative part, the festival becomes a convivial gathering: the traditional Alpini lunch, games on the meadows, and music, provided over the years by the Esino Lario band (San Vittore Musical Corps). It is a day of remembrance and friendship that attracts Alpini, families, and hikers.
Between Lake and Mountain
The festival at the Sacrario di Agueglio is also an opportunity to discover the mountainous hinterland of Perledo, a municipality overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Como. An event that combines the value of Alpini remembrance with the beauty of the Larian landscapes, in the heart of the province of Lecco.

In 2026, the Perledo Alpini Group will again organize the traditional festival at the Sacrario di Agueglio on the last Sunday of August. The day, as per tradition, includes the morning assembly at the Sacrario, Holy Mass in memory of fallen Alpini, the Alpini lunch, games on the meadows, and music by the Esino Lario band.

How to get there
The Sacrario di Agueglio is located along the SP65 between Valsassina and Val d'Esino, in the municipality of Perledo (province of Lecco). Perledo can be reached from Varenna, on Lake Como; from here, head up towards Esino Lario and Agueglio. It is also possible to arrive on foot along the local trails.

Free admission. The Alpini lunch is paid and generally requires reservation.
