Gastronomic stalls and musical evenings in the heart of the Vanoi Valley
In the heart of the Vanoi Valley, nestled among the mountains of south-eastern Trentino, the Ferragosto Festival is the event that has long marked the highlight of summer in Canal San Bovo, the valley's main town in the province of Trento. It is organized by the Pro Loco Canal San Bovo - Gobbera, an association founded in 1994 and run by young volunteers who, as they put it, dedicate themselves to "bringing the village to life with various activities, especially in summer."
The heart of the festival is the village's Party Area, featuring a large marquee that hosts the gastronomic stand and musical evenings. For two days around mid-August, lunches and dinners featuring mountain cuisine are followed by live concerts, DJ sets, and dance parties that keep everyone, young and old, dancing until late. It is the classic village gathering where hot food, music, and good company matter more than any polished program.
The Ferragosto Festival is part of a summer full of initiatives signed by the Pro Loco, including cabaret shows, local craft markets, non-competitive races, and children's entertainment. During the same Ferragosto period, the town also hosts La Peschedada, a non-competitive race open to everyone, while a few days later the village celebrates the San Bortol Festival, its patron saint's feast. Experiencing Ferragosto in Canal San Bovo means immersing yourself in the authenticity of the Vanoi Valley and Trentino-Alto Adige, far from the crowds of more touristy spots, with the genuineness of a mountain community gathering to be together.
The 2026 edition of the Ferragosto Festival takes place on August 15 and 16 at the Party Area of Canal San Bovo, in the Vanoi Valley (TN). This year, the Pro Loco Canal San Bovo - Gobbera confirms its tried-and-tested formula: a gastronomic stand with traditional dishes and musical evenings under the festival marquee.
On Ferragosto day, La Peschedada, a non-competitive race open to all, will also take place. The detailed program for the evenings (artists, DJ sets, and times) will be released by the Pro Loco in the days leading up to the festival: for updates, it is recommended to follow the channels of the Pro Loco and the ApT San Martino di Castrozza, Primiero and Vanoi.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition (artists, DJ sets, and evening times) will be announced by the Pro Loco Canal San Bovo - Gobbera in the weeks preceding the event.
