The historic good price fair in the heart of Valenza
The Fèra dal Bunpàt is one of the most beloved events in the city of Valenza, located in the heart of the Alessandria Monferrato in Piedmont. Its name comes from the local dialect: «bunpàt» translates to «good price», which perfectly captures the spirit of the day. For an entire Sunday, local merchants step out of their shops to bring their goods to the streets, setting up stalls along Corso Garibaldi and the surrounding historic center with special offers and prices designed for the public.
Reaching its 49th edition in 2026, the fair is organized directly by the Municipality of Valenza, which covers the organizational costs to ensure completely free participation for local merchants. Over time, the event has become much more than just a shopping opportunity: it is a moment of reunion for the entire community, which fills the city center from early morning until late in the evening.
Alongside the merchants' stalls, the Fèra dal Bunpàt typically offers a rich array of side events that vary from year to year:
Visiting the Fèra dal Bunpàt is also an opportunity to discover Valenza, a city in the province of Alessandria world-renowned as the Italian capital of goldsmithing and high-end jewelry. Strolling among the fair's stalls, amidst the porticoes and palaces of the historic center, means breathing in the authentic atmosphere of a Piedmontese town that has built its identity on craftsmanship and commerce.
The fair is traditionally held on a Sunday, with a spring edition (usually in May) and sometimes an autumn edition (in September). The usual hours are from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. In case of bad weather, the event may be postponed to the following Sunday.
Valenza can be reached by car via the A26 motorway (Casale Monferrato Sud exit) or the A21; the historic center, where the fair takes place, is easily walkable. By train, the Valenza station is connected to the Alessandria–Mortara line.
The fair generally runs from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Admission is free. During the event, the historic center is closed to traffic: it is recommended to use the parking areas in the surrounding zones.
