Our Lady of Graces in Venafro
Every July 2nd, the community of Venafro, in the province of Isernia, gathers around Our Lady of Graces, venerated in the small church located on the slopes of Mount Santa Croce, north of Castello Pandone. The festival is one of the most heartfelt devotional events of the Venafro summer.
Between novena, masses, and procession
The celebrations, organized by a dedicated committee (chaired by Don Gian Luigi Petti), unfold over two days: the conclusion of the novena, masses at the sanctuary, and on July 2nd, the solemn procession with the statue of Our Lady, which travels from the small church through the historic center — along Via Mura Ciclopiche, Via Giambattista della Valle, Via Cavour, Via De Utris, Via Redenzione, Via Colle, and Via Giordano — before returning to the sanctuary.
Fireworks and evening events in the square
The religious dimension is complemented by the civil one: fireworks and musical evenings liven up Piazza Castello Pandone, at the foot of the manor that dominates the city. The festival represents a moment of strong community gathering for the people of Venafro, combining popular devotion and conviviality.
Our Lady of Graces — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Feast of Our Lady of Graces in Venafro will be held on July 1st and 2nd, organized by the committee chaired by Don Gian Luigi Petti. The religious heart is the solemn procession on July 2nd, with the statue of Our Lady traveling from the small church at the foot of Castello Pandone through the streets of the historic center before returning to the sanctuary. Alongside the devotional part (conclusion of the novena, masses at the sanctuary), there will be fireworks and musical evenings in Piazza Castello Pandone.
