The Patron Saint of Ceppagna
The hamlet of Ceppagna, in Venafro (province of Isernia), dedicates its patronal feast to the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, protector of the village. The celebration, organized by the parish of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary together with a Festival Committee and with the support of the Municipality of Venafro, takes place on the first Sunday of October and lasts for three days.
Religious Rites and Procession
The heart of the festival are the religious rites in the Church of the Most Holy Rosary and the solemn procession with the statue of the Madonna del Rosario through the streets of Ceppagna. A feast of belonging that renews the community's bond with its territory and with popular traditions, culture, and music from bands, considered a heritage of small villages.
Civil Evening Events
Alongside devotion, the civil part is full of entertainment: live music with bands playing hits from the '70s-'80s-'90s, comedians from television programs, dancing evenings, entertainment for children with inflatables and Disney characters, food stalls. The Ceppagna festival traditionally closes the calendar of annual popular festivals in the Venafro area.
Our Lady of the Rosary — edition 2026
In 2026, the hamlet of Ceppagna will again celebrate its patron saint, Our Lady of the Rosary, on the first Sunday of October, around October 4th. The three-day festival will include religious rites in the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, a solemn procession with the statue of the Madonna through the village streets, and evening civil events with music and shows.
