The Feast of Our Lady of Graces in Susen is a popular alpine pasture festival in the municipality of Vervio, in the province of Sondrio. It is held on the first Sunday of August at the small church dedicated to Our Lady of Graces, located in the Susen alpine pasture, at an altitude of about 1500 meters.
Devotion and Community
The festival is deeply felt by the inhabitants of Vervio and its hamlets: the religious moment at the mountain church is accompanied by the conviviality of the festival. Linked to the event is the Susen Race, a non-competitive walk along the path connecting the village of Rogorbello to Susen, part of the festival's tradition.
The Mountains of Vervio
Climbing to Susen means immersing yourself in the most authentic alpine Lombardy, amidst pastures and trails of the middle Valtellina. The event is organized by Pro Loco Vervio in collaboration with the Municipality of Vervio and the Parish of Rogorbello, expressing the community spirit of these mountain villages.
Feast of Our Lady of Graces — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Feast of Our Lady of Graces in Susen falls on Sunday, August 2, the first Sunday of the month according to tradition. The festival takes place at the small church of the Susen alpine pasture and includes the religious moment and the conviviality of the festival. The Susen Race, a non-competitive walk along the path from Rogorbello to the pasture, organized by Pro Loco Vervio, is also planned.

How to get there
Vervio is located in the middle Valtellina, along the SS38; the Susen alpine pasture is reached on foot along the path starting from the hamlet of Rogorbello. Hiking footwear recommended.
