The feast of eggs and radicchio

The Fieste dai Ûs e Lidric — in Italian "feast of eggs and radicchio" — is an event that in February brings a centuries-old custom back to Moruzzo, in the Friulian hills. Organized by the Pro Loco Moruzzo, the feast recalls the tradition according to which, on the first Sunday of Lent, the nuvics (newlyweds) and couples would gather to dance and enjoy the traditional dish together: hard-boiled eggs and winter radicchio.

A tradition that becomes a widespread celebration

The gastronomic heart is precisely this simple and iconic dish, which during the feast is offered in the restaurants of the town with themed menus, alongside radicchio pasta, polenta, and homemade desserts. The event involves the entire community in a widespread celebration, also attentive to sustainability with the exclusive use of washable and reusable rigid tableware.

Walk, music, and conviviality

Among the most popular events is the walk "A spàs cui Nuvics", a 10 km route along the Stringher-Tacoli path, with registration through the Pro Loco portal. The evenings are accompanied by live music and a DJ, in a festive atmosphere that unites generations. The Fieste dai Ûs e Lidric is today one of the iconic events of the Municipality of Moruzzo (Province of Udine), capable of passing on an ancient rite with a contemporary spirit.
