The Carnival of Nova Siri
The Fabulous Carnival is the most cheerful and colorful event of the winter in Nova Siri, a municipality in the Province of Matera that stretches between the characteristic hilltop village and the Marina overlooking the Ionian Sea. Organized by the Municipality of Nova Siri, it offers multiple events that liven up both the historic center and the coastal area.
Three events between the Center and the Marina
The program is divided into several days spread between Nova Siri Centro and Nova Siri Marina, with masked parades, entertainment, shows, dances, and live music. Masks, colors, and confetti accompany families and children in a celebration designed to be experienced together, for fun for all ages.
A carnival for the community
More than just a parade, the Fabulous Carnival is an occasion for the Nova Siri community to come together in the squares, amidst music and cheerfulness. It is also an opportunity to discover, out of season, a territory known mainly in summer for its beaches, but capable of offering warmth and tradition even in the winter months.
Nova Siri Carnival — edition 2026
The Fabulous Carnival 2026 enlivens Nova Siri with events on February 15 and 17, spread between Nova Siri Centro and Nova Siri Marina. The Municipality invites the community to experience the magic of Carnival together, amidst colors, music, masks, parades, and lots of fun for adults and children.
Programme Nova Siri Carnival 2026
The 2026 program includes three events between February 15 and 17, with activities in Nova Siri Centro and Nova Siri Marina. The days include:
- masked parades through the streets of the town and the Marina;
- entertainment and shows for families;
- dances and live music.
Details of times and locations for individual events will be released by the Municipality of Nova Siri in the days preceding the festival.

How to get there: Nova Siri Marina is served by the SS106 Jonica and the Nova Siri-Rotondella train station; the center can be reached via internal roads.
