The Olive Oil Easter Monday
In Moneglia, a municipality on the Eastern Riviera in the Province of Genoa, Easter Monday is traditionally dedicated to extra virgin olive oil. The Market Exhibition, organized by the Municipality and the Pro Loco Moneglia, has reached its fortieth edition and is one of the longest-standing gastronomic events in the area.
Tastings, Oil Mills, and Culture
Along Corso Longhi and in the historic center, producer stands offer direct sales of olive oil, olives, and local products. Among the specialties to taste are Ligurian focaccia with olive oil and bread with olive pulp. The program also includes in-depth sessions, such as a conference on olive cultivation, the award ceremony for the Best Olive Grove competition, and a free guided excursion through oil mills and olive groves, to discover the oil production chain up close.
A Community Celebration
Enriching the day are the Ligurian craft market, a historical photographic exhibition, and musical entertainment with an orchestra. The event, recognized among the Authentic Ligurian Events, highlights one of Liguria's excellences – extra virgin olive oil – and offers the opportunity to experience Moneglia on one of its most festive days.

The 2026 edition, the 43rd, is confirmed for Monday, April 6, Easter Monday, in the historic center of Moneglia. Producer stands will offer direct sales of extra virgin olive oil, olives, and local products, featuring Ligurian focaccia with olive oil and bread with olive pulp. The program also includes a technical conference, the award ceremony for the Best Olive Grove competition, a guided excursion to oil mills, and musical entertainment.

Monday, April 6, 2026 (Easter Monday)
- 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM & 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM — Permanent exhibition "Munegia Antiga" at the Villafranca Tower
- 10:30 AM — Conference "Strategy for Olive Fly Control" with agronomist Martina Figone (University of Pisa)
- 11:30 AM — Award ceremony for the Best Olive Grove Competition 2025
- 2:30 PM — Free guided excursion (approx. 3 hours) through oil mills and olive groves, departure from the Town Hall
- 3:00 PM — Musical entertainment with orchestra in Piazza delle Poste
- All day — Stands of typical products (olive oil focaccia, bread with olive pulp), Ligurian craft market, and photographic exhibition "As We Were"

Moneglia is accessible via the A12 motorway (Sestri Levante or Deiva Marina exits) and by train on the Genoa-La Spezia line.
