Flavors, traditions, and culture of the Valle Impero in celebration
Expo Valle Impero is the major event that promotes the excellences of the Valle Impero, in the hinterland of the province of Imperia. Centered in Chiusavecchia, it involves numerous municipalities in the valley โ including Lucinasco, Aurigo, Borgomaro, Caravonica, Cesio, Chiusanico, and Pontedassio โ transforming the area into a grand showcase of local products and traditions.
The heart of the event is gastronomic: the Pro Loco associations of the valley offer traditional dishes, from gnocchi to panissa, from rabbit to pansoti, accompanied by tastings of Taggiasco extra virgin olive oil and local wines. Among the most curious events is the culinary challenge between the mayors of Valle Impero, guided by local chefs.
In addition to food, the expo offers cooking workshops, demonstrations, cultural meetings, guided excursions along the valley's trails, concerts, and activities for families. A widespread event that celebrates the identity of the Valle Impero, its ancient salt routes, and its authentic rural culture.
The fourth edition of Expo Valle Impero enlivens the valley from May 31 to June 2, 2026. The event, centered in Chiusavecchia and spread across the municipalities of the Valle Impero, including Lucinasco, showcases the gastronomic and cultural excellences of the territory.
Scheduled are food stalls by the Pro Loco associations with traditional dishes, tastings of Taggiasco oil and local wines, the culinary challenge between the valley's mayors, workshops, guided excursions, cultural meetings, and music. On June 2, the centennial Chiusavecchia Fair will also be held.
