Eva and the Others. Everything Women Say

A festival dedicated to women's voices

Eva and the Others. Everything Women Say is the cultural festival created by the Pro Loco APS of Grottaferrata, with the support of the local municipality, to showcase the region's female talent. Launched in 2026, the event brings together visual arts, literature, music, theater, cinema, and photography in a single program: a tapestry of languages telling the stories of women who shaped the country's history and those who continue to create, write, and think for the progress of our community.

Where it takes place: Spazio Ghelfi and AlFellini cinema

The heart of the festival is the Spazio Ghelfi on Via Principe Amedeo, a cultural and institutional hub in the center of Grottaferrata, complemented by the AlFellini cinema for the film screenings. These two nearby venues allow visitors to move easily from the exhibition to the cinema, making the experience convenient even for those traveling from outside the city.

Program sections

• Visual Arts: A collective painting and sculpture exhibition featuring sixteen local artists, including Antonella Brindisi, Roberta Carnevali, Rossana Centioni, Aurora De Luca, Gilda Leoni, Gioia Raparelli, Paola Santangeli, Luminița Țăranu, and Daniela Zannetti.
• Literature: Readings of nine female authors performed by four interpreters, with musical interludes by singer Irma D'Orsi.
• Theater: Performances by the Sipario Aperto company, directed by Laura Teodori.
• Music: The Agogica choral festival, featuring the Eretum Jazz Singers and the Fuori dal Coro group.
• Photography and Workshops: Photography and bookbinding workshops curated by Frame for Life, including the talk "Photography in the social sphere, the social sphere in photography."
• Cinema and Insights: Screenings of "Francesco" by Liliana Cavani (1989), the documentary "Primarosa Cesarini Sforza. La materia e il perimetro" by Gioia Raparelli, and a conference on Jacopa dei Settesoli with Cleofe di Grazia.

An atmosphere of connection

Visitors to the first edition experienced an intimate and informal atmosphere, far removed from the scale of large-scale events. The festival's format encourages direct dialogue between artists, authors, and the public, with conversations sparking naturally in front of the exhibited works. About one thousand people visited the Spazio Ghelfi over the three days—a remarkable result for a debut event that is entirely free of charge.

Grottaferrata and the Castelli Romani

The festival is part of the cultural life of the Municipality of Grottaferrata, a town in the Castelli Romani area within the Metropolitan City of Rome, in the Lazio region. Known primarily for the Greek Abbey of San Nilo, an Italo-Greek monastery founded in 1004, and its historic March Fair, Grottaferrata combines a monastic heritage of European significance with a culinary tradition linked to the wines of the Colli Albani. A visit to the festival is easily combined with a walk to the abbey and a stop at the local wine cellars and taverns.

A tribute to the community

The first edition was dedicated to Nada Franceschini, a recently deceased citizen of Grottaferrata and a witness to local social commitment: a sign of the close bond between the event and the town's social fabric. The organization relied on the support of local sponsors and businesses, confirming a project built from the ground up and designed to grow in future editions.
