Agliana's summer festival in Piazza Gramsci, featuring music, dance, talk shows, and local village fairs
Estate Aglianese is the festival that accompanies the warmest months of the year in the Municipality of Agliana, a small town in the Province of Pistoia, in the heart of the Tuscan plains between Prato and Pistoia. The beating heart of the event is Piazza Gramsci, which becomes a large open-air stage for several weeks. The events, almost all starting at 9 PM and with free admission, alternate between live music, dance, comedy, cultural meetings, and moments of popular celebration.
What makes Estate Aglianese special is its choral nature: alongside the artists on stage, the festival gives ample space to associations and social participation, with events such as the Volunteering Festival and the concert by the young local band Unisono. It is a celebration designed for everyone, from families with children to fans of singer-songwriter music, where the square returns to being the town's premier meeting place.
The programming spans various genres and styles: musical evenings with singer-songwriters, tribute bands, and local groups, dance and Zumba shows, comedy nights, and the Storie Nere e Altri Misteri (Dark Stories and Other Mysteries) series—a cultural talk show dedicated to Italy's greatest mysteries, true crime, and investigative journalism, hosted by writer Antonio Fusco. There is no shortage of gastronomic highlights, such as the traditional Fish Festival, and events dedicated to children with entertainment, games, and creative workshops.
Estate Aglianese is part of a broader summer schedule that also involves other areas and hamlets of the Municipality. The festival is organized by the Municipal Administration of Agliana and represents one of the most anticipated summer events for local residents and visitors to this part of Tuscany, where the tradition of square festivals remains alive and deeply felt.
The 2026 edition of Estate Aglianese takes place from June 4 to July 4 in Piazza Gramsci, Agliana (PT). All events start at 9 PM with free admission. The program alternates between concerts, dance shows, comedy nights, the 'Storie Nere e Altri Misteri' series, and popular festivities like the Volunteering Festival and the Fish Festival.
Events take place in Piazza Gramsci, in Agliana (PT), in the town center. Some special events are held in other locations, such as Piazza San Niccolò (final concert) and the hamlet of Ferruccia.
The festival takes place between June and early July. Unless otherwise indicated, all events start at 9:00 PM.
Admission to all shows is free of charge.
Agliana is easily accessible by car from the SS66 Pistoiese road and the A11 Firenze-Mare motorway exit. The Agliana train station is served by the Florence-Pistoia-Lucca regional line.
