Music becomes a journey between the islands: the Lipari stop of the sea-based festival
The Eolie Music Fest is a one-of-a-kind musical event: rather than being confined to a single location, it spreads concerts and DJ sets across the Aeolian archipelago in the province of Messina, transforming the sea into a natural stage. The artistic direction is led by Samuel, singer and founder of Subsonica, who envisioned an event where music literally becomes a journey between the islands, experienced aboard boats while watching the sunset light up the water.
In the municipality of Lipari, the largest and most populous of the Aeolian Islands, the festival has its main logistical hub at Marina Corta, the square overlooking the small harbor in the historic center. This is the departure point for boats taking the audience to the concerts on the water, with boarding scheduled about half an hour before the live shows. Marina Corta is also the stage for Andro's night-time DJ set on July 18th: the most electronic and festive closing of the day, following the afternoon concerts in Santa Marina di Salina.
The format combines singer-songwriter music, pop, and electronic vibes in settings rarely found elsewhere: the floating stage, the audience's boats, and the island coastlines acting as a natural backdrop. For those without a private boat, dedicated tourist boats are available, departing from the boarding points in Lipari, Salina, and Capo d'Orlando.
More than just a concert series, the Eolie Music Fest is an experience that bridges the landscape heritage of the Aeolian Islands—a UNESCO World Heritage site—with the contemporary Italian music scene. For Lipari, it represents one of the most anticipated events of the summer, drawing fans and tourists from all over Sicily and beyond.
The 2026 edition of the Eolie Music Fest, directed by Samuel, spans three days and traverses the archipelago. The Lipari stop revolves around Marina Corta, serving both as a boarding point for the concerts on the water and as the stage for Andro's night-time DJ set.
For the audience without their own boat, tourist boats are provided, with boarding approximately half an hour before the live shows from the points in Lipari (Marina Corta), Salina, and Capo d'Orlando.
Lipari can be reached by sea via hydrofoils and ferries from Milazzo (the main connection) and other Tyrrhenian ports (Messina, Palermo, Naples). From Milazzo, the hydrofoil crossing takes about an hour.
The boarding point in Lipari is Marina Corta, in the historic center. Boarding for the live shows on the water takes place about half an hour before each performance; tourist boats are available for those who do not have their own vessel.
Ticket presale is open. We recommend checking the official website eoliemusicfest.it and the festival's social media channels for rates, packages, and boarding details.
