About Enorme

Enorme is a boutique artisanal wine fair that changes its location every year between the Irpinia and Sannio regions. In 2026, its fourth edition took place at Palazzo Filangieri in Lapio, in the heart of the Fiano di Avellino wine region. The two-day event featured tasting tables with over fifty Italian winemakers and a European delegation, alongside masterclasses, photography workshops, art installations, garden yoga, dinners with producers, and a free street party. It is a human-scale event where there is truly time to connect with those who craft the wine.

A small fair, an enormous name

Enorme โ€“ Small Artisanal Wine Fair is the event that has been bringing together Italian and European artisanal winemakers in Campania since 2023. The name is a deliberate play on contrasts: it is a human-scale event with a limited number of tables and plenty of time for conversation, yet it holds a grand ambitionโ€”to showcase the inland areas of the Campanian Apennines as a single, unified territory. It is organized by Enorme APS, a social promotion association based in Grottaminarda, founded by a group of producers, restaurateurs, and enthusiasts, and presided over by Roberto Buglione De Filippis.

2026 at Palazzo Filangieri in Lapio

The fourth edition was held on Sunday, June 14, and Monday, June 15, 2026, in Lapio, a small town in the province of Avellino, Campania. The venue was the monumental complex of Palazzo Filangieri, one of the iconic landmarks of this Irpinian village, featuring historic rooms, a courtyard, and gardens. The choice of location was no coincidence: Lapio is considered one of the cradles of Fiano di Avellino DOCG, and its very name is traced back to the ancient agricultural area of 'Apia', from which the term 'apiano'โ€”the origin of the grape variety's nameโ€”is derived.

Over fifty artisanal winemakers

The heart of the event is the tasting tables: over fifty producers from across the peninsula, joined by a small European delegation (previous editions have hosted winemakers from Slovenia, Austria, Germany, France, and the United States). The common thread is not a specific designation, but a philosophy of production:

  • grapes grown without synthetic chemicals;
  • spontaneous fermentation;
  • absence of unnecessary additives;
  • minimal intervention in the cellar to preserve the character of the terroir.

Alongside the winemakers, the fair hosts independent distributors and artisanal food producers from the inland regions. Among the Irpinian wineries present in 2026 were small projects like Casa Brecceto and Di Pietro, ventures bornโ€”as their creators sayโ€”from curiosity and fun, which have since evolved into a professional commitment to the land.

More than just a tasting: culture, art, and body

Enorme complements its tasting tables with a cultural program that has become part of its identity. Masterclasses compare different territories and languages, workshops explore disciplines beyond wine, and art installations bring themes like food waste into the palace. In 2026, the public enjoyed a masterclass connecting Slovenia to the Fiano of Irpinia along the 'Adriatic route', a debate on wine storytelling, a darkroom photography workshop, and a yoga session in the palace gardens.

Dinners with winemakers and a street party

The convivial aspect is a natural extension of the day. On the evening of Sunday, June 14, a dinner with the winemakers was held at the Officina del Gusto in Lapio (by reservation only), accompanied by a concert from Lumanera, an Irpinian band that blends Southern folk music, Mediterranean traditions, and contemporary sounds. The closing event on Monday, June 15, was a free party open to everyone in the square in front of Palazzo Filangieri, featuring a live performance by the Italian-French project NGASA NGASA, food trucks, and local wine pouring.

A traveling festival between Irpinia and Sannio

Enorme has no fixed home: it moves to a different village each year, choosing a historic building to reactivate. It started in 2023 at the Castello d'Aquino in Grottaminarda, moved in 2024 to the Castello di Gesualdo, in 2025 to the Castello dell'Ettore in Apice (in the Sannio region of Benevento), and arrived in 2026 in Lapio. This nomadic nature is the practical translation of its manifesto: to view Irpinia and Sannio as a single territory, where the winemaker is a guardian of the landscape and biodiversity, and artisanal viticulture takes on a political value in the face of climate change.

Why it's worth attending

Those looking for a massive trade fair will find something else here. But those who want to understand how a wine is born, speak directly with the producers, and discover a wine village in the province of Avellino will find themselves in the right place: two slow-paced days in a historic palace, surrounded by the landscape of the Irpinian hills, with the chance to pair your visit with a walk through the Fiano vineyards.

Enorme โ€” edition 2026

The fourth edition of Enorme arrived in Lapio, in the province of Avellino, on June 14-15, 2026, within the monumental complex of Palazzo Filangieri. Over fifty Italian artisanal winemakers and a small European delegation were at the tasting tables, alongside two masterclasses, a darkroom workshop, an installation on food waste, yoga in the gardens, a dinner with producers, and a free closing party in the square with live music.

Enorme 2026: the fourth edition in Lapio

After Grottaminarda, Gesualdo, and Apice, the small artisanal wine fair organized by Enorme APS chose the municipality of Lapio for 2026, in the heart of the Fiano di Avellino production area. The venue for the event was the monumental complex of Palazzo Filangieri, open on Sunday, June 14, from 10:00 to 18:00, and Monday, June 15, from 11:00 to 19:00.

The winemakers

Over fifty producers from various Italian regions presented their wines at the tasting tables, together with a small European delegation, all united by agricultural practices free of synthetic chemicals, spontaneous fermentation, and minimal cellar intervention. Partners from independent distribution and artisanal food producers from the inland areas were also present.

Beyond the glass

The cultural program accompanied the tastings throughout both days, with afternoon masterclasses, the 'Contatto' photography workshop, the 'Quinto Quarto' installation dedicated to food waste, and a yoga session in the palace gardens. On Sunday evening, a dinner with winemakers was held at the Officina del Gusto with a concert by Lumanera; on Monday evening, a free party in the square featured NGASA NGASA, food trucks, and local wine pouring.

Practical information — Enorme

How to get there

Lapio is located in the province of Avellino, about thirty kilometers from the provincial capital, in the hilly area between the Calore Valley and the Fiano vineyards. A car is by far the most convenient way to travel: take the A16 Naples-Canosa motorway, exit at Avellino Est, and continue along the provincial roads of Irpinia. The reference train station is Avellino, which is connected by local bus lines with limited service; if you arrive by train, it is best to arrange a transfer by car or taxi.

Where it takes place

All tastings, masterclasses, workshops, and installations are held at Palazzo Filangieri in the historic center of Lapio. The closing party takes place in the square in front of the palace. The village is small: it is best to park at the entrance to the town and continue on foot.

Tips

  • Purchase your ticket online in advance: it costs less than at the door.
  • Masterclasses have limited seating and require separate booking.
  • The dinner with winemakers requires mandatory reservation and has limited spots.
  • Bring comfortable footwear: the historic center is hilly and partially paved with cobblestones.
  • If you are tasting, arrange for a designated driver or stay overnight in the area: there is a good selection of farmhouses and small accommodations between Lapio, Taurasi, and Montefalcione, but they should be booked in advance.
