Elegance Jazz Society - The Swing Era is not a one-off concert but a resident project born on the stage of the Elegance Cafè Jazz Club in Rome, in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Lazio. The concept is both simple and ambitious: to bring together a fixed group of some of the most prominent musicians from the Roman jazz scene—regular guests of the club—to provide continuity to a repertoire spanning the golden years of American jazz. The result is a monthly series that has become one of the most recognizable fixtures in the capital's jazz scene.

The repertoire: swing, elegance, and high energy

The repertoire is a true sonic journey through the Swing Era: the vibes of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, and Cole Porter are brought to life through polished, rhythmic, and elegant arrangements that highlight the interplay between the musicians. Classics such as It Don't Mean a Thing, Sing Sing Sing, Night and Day, and One O'Clock Jump are reinterpreted without nostalgia, with the goal of keeping a tradition that defined 20th-century music alive and relevant. The concert is organized into two sets, designed to accompany dinner or an aperitif without interrupting the musical flow of the evening.

The Elegance Cafè Jazz Club is a landmark for live music in Rome. Originally located in the Via Veneto area, the venue moved to the Ostiense district, into a renovated former theater on Via Francesco Carletti, just a few minutes' walk from the Pyramid of Cestius and Ostiense station. The room, with tables arranged around the stage, captures the intimate atmosphere of American jazz clubs: low lighting, carefully curated acoustics, and an audience close to the performers. Two options are available: dinner and concert, with an à la carte menu and the concert included upon ordering at least two courses per person (appetizer, first course, or main), or drinks and concert, with a reserved table and a mandatory first drink.
