Independent music, culture, and sustainability at the Villa Comunale in Parete
The Ecosummer Festival is the most iconic summer event in Parete, a small town in the Aversa area of the province of Caserta, in Campania. Every year, in mid-July, the Villa Comunale is transformed for three days into an open-air cultural village: stages among the trees, craft and vintage stalls, a food court, children's areas, and an audience arriving from across the Aversa and Naples region. The organization is managed by the La Tenda cultural association, a local third-sector entity that has made this event one of the longest-running and most recognizable independent festivals in the region.
In 2026, Ecosummer reaches the milestone of its twelfth edition, scheduled from Thursday, July 16 to Saturday, July 18. The formula has remained faithful to itself over the years: no big TV-show stars, but a thoughtful selection of projects from the new Italian scene, often on the verge of their breakthrough. Singer-songwriter music, indie, electronic, rap, and South American influences alternate on the main stage, in a listening journey that has made the festival a reference point for those following emerging music in Campania.
The novelty of the 2026 edition is the introduction of the Ceres Stage, a second stage born from the collaboration with Ceres, which joins the main stage and significantly expands the musical programming. Each day features two artists on the main stage and an emerging project on the dedicated stage, ensuring the evening flows seamlessly between concerts. The 2026 main stage featured Vesuviano and Addolorata, Nico Arezzo and Selton, Giulia Mei and Whitemary; the Ceres Stage hosted Pollon Mask and the Roman rapper Yan G.
The Ecosummer program does not end with evening music. The municipal park comes alive as early as the late afternoon with a schedule designed for all ages:
Surrounding the stages are craft, handmade, and vintage stalls and the food area, with gastronomic offerings, desserts, wine, and beer: a way to bring the park to life from the early afternoon until late at night.
The "eco" prefix is not just a marketing gimmick. Ecosummer was born to promote a cultural model attentive to the environment and active citizenship, and for years it has applied a consistent policy: no single-use plastic, enhanced waste sorting, compostable and recyclable materials, reusable cups, awareness workshops, and an invitation to sustainable mobility (bicycles, car sharing, shuttles). The festival is also an opportunity to redevelop a public space: for three days, the municipal park returns to being the town square, a meeting place for associations, artists, and families.
Parete is located in the far south of the province of Caserta, on the border with the metropolitan area of Naples, in a densely populated agricultural zone. It is a context where independent cultural events are not taken for granted, and for this reason, Ecosummer has gained a value over the years that goes beyond the lineup: it has become a community appointment, supported by the Municipality of Parete and built with the network of local associations, from the Pro Loco to environmental groups. For those visiting Campania in July, it is one of the most authentic ways to experience a summer evening far from the tourist circuits.
Three days, two stages, and a city park transformed into a cultural village: the 2026 edition of the Ecosummer Festival confirmed the formula that has made the Parete event one of the most followed independent appointments in the province of Caserta. Alongside the main stage, the real novelty was the Ceres Stage, dedicated to emerging projects.
The schedule opened every day in the late afternoon with activities for children, green workshops, tournaments, and screenings, then giving way to concerts in the evening. Among the names in the lineup were Vesuviano, Addolorata, Nico Arezzo, Selton, Giulia Mei, Whitemary, as well as Pollon Mask and the rapper Yan G on the Ceres Stage. A special moment on Saturday, July 18, was the performance by poet Franco Arminio.
Also in 2026, the festival maintained its plastic-free footprint, with waste sorting, compostable and recyclable materials, and an explicit invitation to sustainable mobility. On Sunday, July 19, most of the food and commercial stalls remained set up in the park, where a giant screen was installed behind the main stage to follow the World Cup final.
