Five days of brass band music and Alpine folklore in Moena, Val di Fassa
The Dolomites Music Festival is a fresh musical event that, in the summer of 2026, transforms Moena into a crossroads of Alpine culture, brass band music, folklore, and conviviality. Organized by the Moena Municipal Band, the festival spans five days—from June 25th to 28th and on July 4th, 2026—with concerts, parades, folk groups, performances, and local gastronomy under a large marquee at the C. Benatti sports field, located at the entrance to the town in Val di Fassa.
The festival brings sounds, traditions, and stories from across the continent to the foot of the Dolomites: from Trentino bands to international groups, from Slovenia to Bavaria, as well as Veneto and Piedmont, all united by a shared sense of mountain identity. Opening the festival on Thursday, June 25th, are the Alpenschweine Musikanten—a group formed in Moena in 2024 by Municipal Band members passionate about Blasmusik—followed by a concert by The Heimatdamisch, famous for their Oberkrainer-style rock.
The festival integrates and elevates the Sèn Vile Festival, the ancient patronal feast in honor of Saint Vigilius that has always defined life in Moena. The Sveglia Moena, with bands and associations marching through the town center at dawn, and the Mass in Ladin represent its most authentic heart: not just a show, but the living story of a community told through music, volunteerism, and tradition.
Under the large marquee at the C. Benatti sports field, traditional Trentino cuisine is served every evening in a festive atmosphere. With international ensembles like the Slovakian Mährische Dunajska Kapela and the all-female Slovenian group Oberkrainer Polka Mädels, along with parades and folk groups, the Dolomites Music Festival is an unmissable event for lovers of brass music, Alpine folklore, and the warm hospitality of Val di Fassa, in Trentino-Alto Adige.
The Dolomites Music Festival 2026 inaugurated its first edition in Moena. The ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 25th, at 6:00 PM opened five days of festivities, with kitchen service from 7:00 PM and concerts starting at 8:30 PM. Lighting up the Benatti field marquee were the Alpenschweine Musikanten and The Heimatdamisch, with their signature Oberkrainer-style rock.
On Friday, June 26th, the Sèn Vile day celebrated the patron saint, Saint Vigilius, with the Sveglia Moena at 8:30 AM, Mass in Ladin at 10:00 AM, and a concert by the Moena Municipal Band. Saturday the 27th (Music in Motion) featured Trentino's brass band excellence along with the first provincial drum major competition; Sunday the 28th (The Ladin Valleys) hosted the Banda Valle di Susa. The festival concluded on Saturday, July 4th.
The festival takes place under the marquee at the C. Benatti sports field, at the entrance to Moena (38035), in Val di Fassa, Autonomous Province of Trento.
