The enocultural festival in Castelbuono, in the heart of the Madonie mountains
The DiVino Festival is the premier enocultural event in Castelbuono, a charming medieval village in the Province of Palermo, set within the Madonie Park in Sicily. Established in 2007, the event has grown with each edition to become an unmissable gathering for wine enthusiasts, producers, sommeliers, and food lovers alike. Promoted by the Municipality of Castelbuono and organized by the Baz'art Sicilia Association, with the support of the Regional Department of Agriculture, the festival celebrates the deep bond between wine, territory, and culture.
During the festival, Castelbuono transforms into a widespread stage: every cloister, square, and restaurant becomes a venue for authentic experiences. The heart of the event beats between the Cloister of San Francesco, which hosts the Salone del DiVino, and Piazza Castello, at the foot of the Ventimiglia Castle, where concerts, performances, award ceremonies, and entertainment take place with free admission.
The program offers a packed calendar of masterclasses and tastings led by industry experts, focusing on different Italian wine regions each year: from the Sardinian wines of Mandrolisai to Tuscan excellence, and the native white wines of the Madonie such as Grillo and Catarratto. Tastings have limited capacity and require booking.
The most anticipated moment is the Salone del DiVino, set up in the Cloister of San Francesco, where visitors can sample over 700 labels from about 200 Italian and European wineries. The event culminates in the Gusto DiVino awards ceremony, which celebrates prominent figures from the worlds of wine, gastronomy, culture, and entertainment.
Evenings in Piazza Castello are brought to life by free concerts, comedy shows, and entertainment, while the gastronomic area allows visitors to discover typical Madonie dishes, from the famous artisanal panettone of Castelbuono to local cheeses and cured meats. The DiVino Festival is a complete experience, uniting the culture of fine drinking with the discovery of one of Sicily's most fascinating villages.
The 2026 edition celebrated twenty years of the event, with Tuscany as the guest of honor. The masterclasses, led by oenologist Francesco Saverio Russo, ranged from the wines of Mandrolisai (Sardinia) to Tuscan excellence from Gambassi Terme and Montaione, and the white wines of the Madonie (Grillo and Catarratto) along the Targa Florio Wine Roads, with a final session dedicated to young Sicilian producers.
On Sunday, June 21, the Cloister of San Francesco hosted the Salone del DiVino with over 700 labels from about 200 wineries. On Saturday, June 20, in Piazza Castello, the Gusto DiVino 2026 awards ceremony, hosted by Daniele Lucca, honored figures including Giusina Battaglia, Cristiano Tomei, Slow Food, Johnson Righeira, and Jacopo Fo.
The free evening events in Piazza Castello featured Danilo Sacco (Friday), Lello Analfino & T-ORKESTAR (Saturday), and a performance by Cosmin Tiberio with the ventriloquist Samuel (Sunday).
Castelbuono is located in the Madonie Park, about 90 km from Palermo. By car: A19/A20 motorway, exit Castelbuono-Pollina, then SS113. By train: Castelbuono station on the Palermo-Messina line, connected to the town center by shuttle bus.
Evening shows in Piazza Castello have free admission. Masterclasses and the Salone del DiVino have limited capacity and require booking via the official website www.divinofestival.it.
