The sun rising over Lake Maggiore to the sound of a Stradivari
The Dawn Concert in Arona is one of the most poetic events of the summer on Lake Maggiore. On the day of the summer solstice, when the night is at its shortest and the day at its longest, the Rocca Borromea Park opens its gates well before sunrise to welcome those looking for an extraordinary experience: listening to live music as the dawn light slowly settles over the lake's waters.
The event takes place in Arona, a town in the Province of Novara, Piedmont, overlooking the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore. The Rocca Borromea, with its panoramic position and lush green park, is the iconic venue chosen for this musical ritual that welcomes the arrival of summer.
The star of the concert is violinist Guido Rimonda, musical director of the Viotti Festival and founder of the Camerata Ducale, who plays a rare Stradivari violin: the famous "Jean-Marie Leclair" from 1721, also known as "il Noir" due to the legend surrounding its former owner. The notes of this instrument, among the most precious in the world, blend with the colors of the sky and the lake's panorama, creating a spectacle that never fails to move the audience.
The Dawn Concert is part of the "Le Voci dell'Alba" (Voices of Dawn) series, an experience that combines the magic of music with the charm of nature awakening, featuring special events in iconic city locations such as the Rocca Borromea, Piazza del Popolo, and the Lido. The series is part of the major summer program "ArONa accendi la tua estate", organized by the City of Arona in collaboration with the Pro Loco and local associations.
It is an event perfect for those who love music, nature, and moments of reflection: waking up in the middle of the night to reach the Rocca and wait together for the first ray of sun, cradled by the notes of a Stradivari, is an experience that stays with you for a long time.

Arona is well-connected: the train station is on the Milan-Domodossola line, just a few minutes from the town center. By car, it can be reached via the A26 motorway (Arona exit). For the concert, a free shuttle train is provided to take participants up to the Rocca Borromea Park.
The concert takes place at dawn, with a meeting time around 5:00 AM on June 21st.
Free admission. A complimentary breakfast is offered to all attendees at the end of the concert.
We recommend comfortable clothing and a sweatshirt or light jacket: at dawn, by the lake, the air can be cool even in summer.
