Two days of sports, games, and socializing in Colleretto Giacosa
In the heart of the Canavese region, at the foot of the valleys that slope down toward the Chiusella stream, Curej Day has become one of the most anticipated events of the year in Colleretto Giacosa, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont. Born as a way to bring the community together, the event is now a well-established tradition that transforms the village into a large space dedicated to sports and socializing every spring.
Curej Day is organized by the Amici del Chiusella APS association, in collaboration with UGI and the Cavalchiusella group, and is sponsored by the Municipality of Colleretto Giacosa. The idea behind it is simple and successful: two days where sporting fun meets good food and social interaction. It is not an elite competition, but a village festival open to everyone, where participation matters more than the result.
The program alternates between tournaments and activities suitable for both adults and children. Among the most popular offerings are the beach volleyball tournament, the Soccer Lab for younger participants, archery, and horseback riding activities, alongside classic social tournaments like table football and pinnacola. The setting is completed by a refreshment area serving sandwiches, hot dogs, and beer, and the unmissable paella dinner on Saturday night.
Curej Day perfectly represents the spirit of Piedmontese village festivals: a moment when a small Canavese community gathers to share sports, food, and friendship. The collaboration with UGI also links the initiative to a charitable cause, making the event not just an occasion for leisure, but also for collective participation in the town of Colleretto Giacosa.
Curej Day typically takes place at the beginning of May, over two days (Saturday and Sunday).
