Crossroads – Jazz Festival is one of the most important jazz festivals in Italy and Europe, organized by Jazz Network ETS in collaboration with the Culture Department of the Emilia-Romagna Region and with the support of the Ministry of Culture. Its distinctive feature is its travelling nature: every year the festival crosses over twenty municipalities in Emilia-Romagna with a programme of more than sixty concerts. In 2026, for its XXVII edition (from March 3rd to July 31st), Crossroads also stops in Medolla, a town in the Bassa modenese area of the province of Modena, with two events at the Teatro Facchini in Piazza del Popolo.

The Medolla programme for 2026 offers two evenings of great artistic depth, both starting at 9 PM.

• Wednesday, April 22nd – Peppe Servillo, Javier Girotto, and Natalio Mangalavite in «L'anno che verrà», a refined tribute to the songs of Lucio Dalla. The trio brings together Servillo's voice, Girotto's saxophones, and Mangalavite's piano in a jazz reinterpretation of the repertoire of the Bologna-based singer-songwriter.
• Wednesday, April 29th – Gegè Telesforo with «Jazz Radio», an innovative show that combines the magic of a live concert with the intimacy of a radio talk show. On stage with the Foggia-born vocalist is a band of young talents: Vittorio Solimene on piano, Francesco Fratini on trumpet, Lorenzo Simoni on alto sax, Giulio Scianatico on double bass, and Valerio Vantaggio on drums.

A festival without stylistic boundaries

Crossroads is known for a programme that places no stylistic limits, giving space to both big names and emerging talents, with a strong female presence. Over the years, the festival has hosted artists of the calibre of Stefano Bollani, Richard Galliano, Enrico Rava, Uri Caine, and numerous international stars, alternating between the grand theatres of the provincial capitals and the more intimate venues of smaller towns like Medolla.

Medolla and culture in the Bassa modenese

Located in the plain between Modena and Mirandola, Medolla is a municipality that has successfully revived its cultural life after the 2012 earthquake that severely affected Emilia. The Teatro Facchini, in the heart of the town in Piazza del Popolo, is today one of the symbols of this rebirth and hosts quality theatre and music seasons. The stop of Crossroads confirms the vocation of the Modenese territory to host nationally significant artistic proposals.
