Three days of typical Bolognese cuisine, music, and Alpine tradition in the courtyard of the Crespellano parish church.
In the heart of Crespellano, a hamlet in the municipality of Valsamoggia in the province of Bologna, the Alpini Group Festival is one of those events that tells the most authentic soul of Emilia-Romagna. For three days, the courtyard next to the Parish Church of San Savino transforms into a large meeting place, where the 'penne nere' of the Crespellano Alpini Group welcome families, friends, and curious visitors with the generosity that has always characterized this association.
The heart of the festival is undoubtedly the food stand, which opens in the late afternoon and offers the most beloved specialties of Bolognese and Modenese tradition. You can enjoy the unmissable tigelle (or crescentine) stuffed with cured meats and cheeses, the fragrant gnocco fritto, the thin borlenghi, and a good glass of local wine from the hills. For those who prefer, take-away dishes can be ordered. It's the simple and genuine cuisine of the Bolognese Apennines, passed down from one festival to another, finding a perfect setting here.
Each evening features its own show. From forays into the Bolognese dialect, a true identity of the territory, to live concerts, and music nights with a DJ that get everyone dancing. It's a festival designed for all ages, where the community dimension matters most: on Sundays, fittingly, there is also a Holy Mass in the Crespellano church, a sign of the strong bond between the Alpini Group and the life of the hamlet.
Behind the organization are the volunteers of the Crespellano Alpini Group, part of the large family of the National Alpini Association. The festival is also an opportunity to support the solidarity and community service activities that have always characterized the work of the 'penne nere'. Admission is free, and the invitation is open to all: an unmissable event for those who want to experience a true village festival at the foot of the Apennines, with good food, music, and the typical warmth of the Valsamoggia communities.
