From Miramare to Piazza Unità

The Corsa dei Castelli is one of the most evocative footraces in Italy: the route ideally links two icons of Trieste, starting from the white Miramare Castle, an Hapsburg jewel set in the park overlooking the Gulf, and ending in the spectacular Piazza Unità d'Italia, Europe's largest square open to the sea. Organised by ASD Promorun, it is a highly anticipated autumn event.

A fast and scenic route

The competitive 10 km, FIDAL-certified and of national importance, is appreciated by runners for being fast, with long stretches along the coast. Alongside the timed race, the programme includes a non-competitive 10 km for those who want to run without the pressure of time and an 8 km Family Run for families and walkers. A format that welcomes athletes and enthusiasts of all levels.

Running the Corsa dei Castelli means crossing some of Trieste's most beautiful locations with the sea always by your side: from the greenery of Miramare Park to the seafront, all the way to the finish line in the monumental heart of the city. It is no coincidence that the event, also supported by local institutions and universities, reserves free registrations for university students each year, a sign of its deep roots in the community.
