The road running race through the heart of Afragola
Corri...Afragola, also known as the City of Afragola Trophy, is one of the premier road races in Campania. Organised by A.S.D. New Atletica Afragola, the event brings athletics to the streets of Afragola, a populous town in the metropolitan city of Naples, transforming the urban landscape into a vibrant race track filled with runners, fans, and spectators.
The main event is a 10-kilometre competitive road race (officially measured by FIDAL at approximately 10.1 km) on asphalt, winding through the historic centre and the town's main thoroughfares. The meeting point and start line are traditionally located along Corso Aldo Moro in the early morning, when traffic gives way to athletes and spectators line the barriers. The course is mostly flat, making it ideal for both those chasing a personal best and those running for the sheer joy of the atmosphere.
Corri...Afragola is primarily a team-based competition included in the federal calendar and regional running circuits. Over the years, the event has counted towards various trophies and team rankings, drawing numerous clubs affiliated with FIDAL and other sports promotion organisations. Team participation is a hallmark of the event, with clubs fielding dozens of athletes each; due to limited entries, the race often sells out within hours.
Beyond the clock, Corri...Afragola is a community celebration. As runners pass through the heart of Afragola, they are met with applause, music, and families cheering from the sidelines. The race also honours the memory of figures who contributed to the development of athletics in the area, keeping the bond between sport and local identity alive.
Now well-established, the event is a fixed date in the early summer running calendar. For the town of Afragola and the Campania region, it represents a perfect blend of sport, local promotion, and public participation, showcasing the vitality of a running movement that brings thousands of enthusiasts to the region's streets every year.
The 2026 edition of Corri...Afragola, the City of Afragola Trophy, was held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, as part of the official FIDAL road race calendar. The competitive 10.1 km asphalt race followed the traditional route through the main streets and avenues of Afragola, with the meeting point and start on Corso Aldo Moro.
Organised by A.S.D. New Atletica Afragola, the race maintained its team-based format, open to registered athletes. As is tradition, the number of entries was limited, and registration was handled through the garepodistiche.com portal.
Afragola is located just a few kilometres north of Naples and is well-connected via the Asse Mediano and the Naples Tangenziale. By train, the town is served by the Afragola railway station, while the Napoli Afragola high-speed (AV) station is located in the immediate vicinity of the municipal area.
Registration is handled online via the garepodistiche.com portal. Entry numbers are limited, so early booking is highly recommended. The competitive race is reserved for athletes registered according to federal regulations.
Arrive early to collect your race bib and reach the starting area on Corso Aldo Moro. We recommend wearing running gear suitable for the summer season and staying well-hydrated.
