The theatre season of the Municipality of Comacchio at the Palazzo Bellini Multipurpose Hall
Comacchio Theatre is the theatre season promoted by the Municipality of Comacchio, a charming town in the Po Delta in the province of Ferrara, in Emilia-Romagna. The shows are held in the Palazzo Bellini Multipurpose Hall, at via Agatopisto 7, an intimate space that has been the cultural heart of the city for years. The festival is curated by the artistic direction of Massimiliano Venturi, in network with I Teatri del Delta, and offers a programme that alternates drama, comedy, and live music.
The programming focuses on a balance between major titles, well-known faces from theatre and television, and more intimate or experimental offerings. Alongside classic drama, there are musical tributes, comedy shows, and new forms of contemporary theatre. The 2026 edition brought together a range of genres that well represents the spirit of the festival:
The Multipurpose Hall is part of the Palazzo Bellini complex, a historic building that also houses the municipal library. Being at the theatre here means experiencing an evening immersed in the unique atmosphere of Comacchio, a city of canals, bridges, and ancient wetland traditions, famous for its eel and the charm of its historic centre. The intimate size of the hall fosters a direct relationship between artists and spectators, making each performance a close-up and engaging experience.
With affordable ticket prices and a subscription formula, Comacchio Theatre confirms its role as a key event for the cultural life of the Delta region. The season is not just entertainment: it is an opportunity for the community to come together, for younger audiences to discover theatre, and for visitors to explore Comacchio even in the winter season, when the city shows its most authentic and intimate side.
The 2026 season of Comacchio Theatre kicked off on January 9 with Flexus and their musical story of the life and works of Lucio Dalla, continuing on January 16 with Lorenzo Maragoni's stand-up poetry. On February 7, it was the turn of Enzo Decaro & Ànema with "Renatissimo", a tribute to Renato Carosone. Spring saw Alessandro Ciacci in "Fricassea" (March 7), the Music Hall by the Compagnia Corrado Abbati (March 20), and "Le Fuggitive" with Gaia De Laurentiis and Paola Quattrini (March 28). On April 17, Proscenio Teatro staged "Much Ado About Nothing" by Shakespeare. The season closed on April 21 with the rescheduled "Le Fuggitive". All events were held in the Palazzo Bellini Multipurpose Hall, in Comacchio.
The shows are held in the Palazzo Bellini Multipurpose Hall, via Agatopisto 7, 44022 Comacchio (FE), in the province of Ferrara.
