Comacchio Theatre: the theatre season of the lagoon city

Comacchio Theatre is the theatre season promoted by the Municipality of Comacchio, a charming town in the Po Delta in the province of Ferrara, in Emilia-Romagna. The shows are held in the Palazzo Bellini Multipurpose Hall, at via Agatopisto 7, an intimate space that has been the cultural heart of the city for years. The festival is curated by the artistic direction of Massimiliano Venturi, in network with I Teatri del Delta, and offers a programme that alternates drama, comedy, and live music.

The programming focuses on a balance between major titles, well-known faces from theatre and television, and more intimate or experimental offerings. Alongside classic drama, there are musical tributes, comedy shows, and new forms of contemporary theatre. The 2026 edition brought together a range of genres that well represents the spirit of the festival:

• Stand-up poetry, one of the newest forms of the Italian theatre scene;

• Classics, reinterpreted with freshness and a contemporary touch.

Palazzo Bellini, Comacchio's cultural gem

The Multipurpose Hall is part of the Palazzo Bellini complex, a historic building that also houses the municipal library.
