The half marathon among the canals and bridges of the small Venice of Ferrara
The Comacchio Half Marathon is a half marathon that winds through the streets, canals, and bridges of Comacchio, a charming municipality in the Province of Ferrara nestled in the heart of the Po Delta, in Emilia-Romagna. Nicknamed "little Venice" for its network of canals and bridges crossing the historic center, Comacchio offers a unique setting for those who love to run: a route through alleys, water expanses, and views of the famous Valleys, the realm of pink flamingos.
The event offers multiple distances designed for athletes and enthusiasts of all levels:
Born in 2024 and organized by Ravenna Runners Club ASD, the Comacchio Half Marathon has established itself in just a few editions as one of the most beloved events on the Emilia-Romagna spring running calendar, attracting over a thousand participants to the finish line. The event's patron is the Comacchio champion Laura Fogli, a historic Italian marathon runner, a symbol of the bond between the city and long-distance running.
Running the Comacchio Half Marathon also means discovering a village with an extraordinary heritage: the monumental Trepponti, the Loggiati dei Cappuccini, the Clock Tower, and the lagoon atmosphere that makes Comacchio one of the most fascinating destinations on the Ferrara coast. The evening start, at 6:00 PM, offers participants the warm sunset light on the canals, transforming the race into an experience that combines sport, landscape, and tradition.
The Comacchio Half Marathon 2026, the third edition of the event organized by Ravenna Runners Club ASD, took place on Saturday, May 9, 2026. The official medal, dedicated to the theme of time, featured Comacchio's Clock Tower surrounded by canals and a pink flamingo, with the novelty of personalizing the lanyard with the race time.
Maximum time for the half marathon: 3 hours. The course is similar to the 2025 route with some modifications, along the canals and bridges of the historic center.
Evening start at sunset among the canals of the small Venice; medal dedicated to the Clock Tower; patron Laura Fogli, Comacchio champion; over a thousand participants across the three races.
