The patron saint's feast and carnival in the hamlet of Monte di Colognola ai Colli
The Colognola Carnival is intertwined with the Ancient Feast of Saint Blaise, patron saint of Colognola ai Colli, a municipality in the province of Verona in the hilly Soave area. The feast falls in early February, around February 3rd, Saint Blaise's day, and takes place mainly in the hamlet of Monte, in Piazza San Biagio.
One day is dedicated to the ancient Saint Blaise fair, a moment of devotion and community. The protagonist of the feast is a traditional dessert: the Rufioli di San Biagio De.Co., sweet ravioli among the most beloved products of the town, passed down through generations and prepared specifically for the patron saint's celebrations.
As tradition dictates, the religious devotion is accompanied by the most joyful part: the Colognola Carnival, with the parade of allegorical floats and masks, entertainment for children, and the celebration in Piazza San Biagio, where gnocchi and Rufioli are not to be missed. The event is organized by the Municipality of Colognola ai Colli together with the Pro Loco.
The feast represents an identity-defining event for the Colognola community, capable of uniting the religious dimension of the patron saint with the convivial and folkloric aspect of the carnival, in a corner of the Veronese region famous for its Soave DOC production.
The Colognola Carnival and the Ancient Feast of Saint Blaise will return in early February 2026 to Colognola ai Colli, following the tradition that links the celebrations to the patron saint Saint Blaise (February 3rd) and the carnival parade on the following Sunday.
The feast, organized by the Municipality together with the Pro Loco, will take place in the hamlet of Monte, in Piazza San Biagio, with the ancient fair, the parade of floats and masks, and the tasting of Rufioli di San Biagio De.Co.
